On June 6, 2023, the Center of Hope received a visit from two Brazilian sisters: Ayala and Suely. With the support of the Church in Campina Grande and Salvador, it was possible to raise money to buy and distribute coats and blankets for the winter that the local community was experiencing at the time, as well as to purchase school supplies for the children of the orphanage. Some materials, including both pencil cases and interactive teaching tools, were made by a team of sisters who cooperated to ensure that the word of God about who Jesus Christ is was well conveyed to the children, which resulted in very precious moments with them daily for these two sisters.
In addition to the work at the orphanage, it’s worth mentioning the visits made to the mothers and grandmothers of the local Church in the villages of Muxuquete and Bokuctha. These are women living in situations of extreme vulnerability and sadness, but small gestures like this could renew their faith and warm their hearts. Ayala and Suely witnessed days filled with the movement of the Holy Spirit during these activities, learning more about empathy and simplicity, particularly through small miracles and specific directions from God regarding the challenges, which ultimately resulted in something remarkable that goes beyond those moments.
Like them, we are also hoping for more volunteers to join us in continuing this work.
